Working from home is a trend that isn’t about to go away any time soon. As many business owners and staff are likely aware, the past few years has witnessed a surge in the number of employees who are able to work from home. In fact, a recently published Gallup State of the American Workplace report revealed that a staggering 43% of U.S. workers spend at least some of their time working remotely, a near five percent increase from previous years. Within the sectors associated with Information Technology, around 8% of employees work from home, while 21% say they utilize their living room/office at least once per week.

Recently, one of our partner organizations, Avaya, conducted a global poll. The goal of this questionnaire was to assess a diverse range of businesses in order to determine what they believed to be the most important components of expanding their companies. Unsurprisingly, the majority of those questioned spoke very highly of technological advancements, and many were eager to integrate new digital apparatus into their enterprises so as to remain competitive.
